Sure, they could just include links to the dealerships inventory which was uploaded to BlehBlehBleh.com or LooksAndFunctionsLikeDooDoo.com but, is that really the quality of service and presentation that a company wants to build their business on? After all, the big dogs everyone is competing with don't do that, not to mention, how is it that you profit from that or increase your arsenal of cutting edge and attractive services you are able to offer in order to set yourself above the competition and "earn" the dealers business? For any window sticker printing company competing in this ever so rapidly growing market, in many cases in order to gain a dealership account, you must also be able to not only provide better service and in some cases a better price, but you have to be able to at least match the services the dealership was previously getting. A challenge that previously presented itself to startup sticker printing and service companies: They could go out and earn dealers business with a better price and better service but, unless they had the time and resources to put together a huge technical infrastructure to not only attractively and functionally display the inventory on the dealerships website, not to mention devise a way to easily and reliably get the data there, it was just out of reach. Therefore, dealers were left in many cases with sub-par inventory and service companies were left with no realistic way to fill that void in their service.
The dealer service company signs up for a WalkTheLot.com account, and once they have done so, creates individual dealership accounts for each of their dealers. Each of these accounts and their associated settings and web page configurations may be customized to match the dealers site or simply to take on the look and feel the service company desires. On the 1st of the month, the service company (master account holder) gets a invoice for all vehicles entered during the previous month and can bill the dealership however and whatever they want. The service company collects the data from the dealership and uses a software product such as DeskLot to not only print window stickers and buyers guides and dump data to other services but also to dump the data to WalkTheLot.com via FTP, much in the same fashion that you would with other major services. Once the data dump is imported, you, the master account owner get a report letting you know that everything was imported fine, or in the case of an error, exact details on what records could not be imported and why. The data is live on the Internet in about 10 minutes. Each of the dealerships have their own login name and password so that they may login to their individual account and delete vehicles that have been sold, update prices, etc. In fact, you, the master account owner can even configure permissions for each of your dealers to allow or disallow them the ability to change certain vehicle data. You even have control to Freeze individual dealership accounts within your account if need be (i.e. they didn't pay you in time). The primary means of getting the vehicle data to WalkTheLot.com is done through our DeskLot Window Sticker Printing and Data Publishing Software (sold separately), however, you may use another package if you like as long as it is able to provide the data to WalkTheLot.com in the format required. Additionally, dealers (or you) may manually enter vehicle data and upload photo's if desired. Web Page Features and Configuration Not only are the pages the dealer includes in their site very attractive, they each page can be customized extensively with your own graphics, background images, fonts, colors, styles and text. Each dealership account within your account has it's own unique links and settings. There is even a copy function so that if once you come up with a design you like, and you want to use it for another dealership, just copy it.
The real power and appeal of this system beyond the massive customization ability and ease of getting data to it is:
The following links are available for each dealership account as well as for the master account:
Basic Examples (under normal circumstances you would include these links within FRAMES in your existing site):
Important Pricing Notes: The above mentioned prices reflect our wholesale rates (25% off) that we offer to NON-dealership companies who service dealerships. The following services are not discounted: Polling and setup fees. Until you provide adequate proof that you are a legitimate service company and not a dealership posing as one for the purpose of discount rates, your master account will be charged the retail price. By signing up for an account you agree to these terms. Methods of validation can be a business license, copy of a company check, invoice to a dealer or a number of other methods. The document(s) may be faxed to use or emailed in a PDF format. Note: The master account gets billed on the 1st of each month for all vehicles that existed in all of the sub accounts for the previous month as well as for any additional services provisioned for all dealership accounts within the master account.
