Problem
Error DL70 - Permission Denied

Solution
The error "DL70 Permission Denied" is caused by a security bug in ESP Data's VinPower VIN decoding module. This problem has been corrected by VinPower in the latest version of VinPower that is distributed with DeskLot, however users running older installations of DeskLot are also running an older version of VinPower. The easiest and best way to correct this problem is to:

1) Uninstall DeskLot completely
2) Download the latest copy of DeskLot, and install it.

HOWEVER, you must backup your data 1st since the DeskLot installation can and normally does overwrite some of your database files (this is a Microsoft installer issue).

After backing up the DeskLot data (see backup and restore instructions below), uninstalling DeskLot, downloading the most recent version of DeskLot from www.desklot.com, installing it, and then restoring your databases and custom files, registered users of VinPower might have to re-enter a VinPower unlock code and the code they previously gave you may not work. In this case, contact VinPower support at www.VinPower.com and tell them your company name, that you have already registered, and that you had to reinstall DeskLot to get the latest VinPower OCX version due to the VinPower "Permission Denied" error, and that your old unlock code will not work and that you need a new one. They will instruct you to resend your registration request and then will send you a new unlock code.

Backup Up Your Files
From within DeskLot, click the "Data Transfer" menu and then "Backup or Restore Data"
Make sure "Backup Files" and "Include Master Databases" are checked. "Include Images" is optional since DeskLot installation does not overwrite your vehicle images.
Click "OK"
A "Browse for Folder" dialog box will open. Select a folder on your computer where you would like to place the files that are being backed up. If you need to create a folder to backup to, use Windows Explorer to create a folder.
Once you have selected the folder to backup to, click "OK" to start the backup process.
You will get a message "Backup Complete" when the backup is done.
As a safety precaution, although DeskLot installation will not overwrite your individual account databases, it is a good idea to repeat this process when logged into each dealership account you manage with DeskLot (if you happen to manage multiple accounts).

Restoring Your Files
From within DeskLot, click the "Data Transfer" menu and then "Backup or Restore Data"
Make sure "RESTORE Files" and "Include Master Databases" are checked. "Include Images" does not need to be checked and if you did not check it when you backed up, make sure not to check it this time.
Click "OK"
A "Browse for Folder" dialog box will open. Select the folder on your computer where you placed your backup files.
Once you have selected the folder to backup to, click "OK" to start the backup process.
You will get a message "Restore Complete" when the restore is done.
Exit DeskLot and restart the program. Your accounts and files should be just as they were before you reinstalled.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have customized files such as the ASP, HTML Templates, etc that come with DeskLot, the backup/restore function does not back these files up Make sure and manually copy these files off safely and copy them back when you have reinstalled as the DeskLot installation will overwrite these files
