Importing Data from ADP DMS
Solution
ADP DMS users: A sample ADP import configuration is included within DeskLot. It is available under the "Data Transfer" menu and is named "SAMPLE: ADP Comma Delimited Import w/ Option Code/Text Conversions". If you are running an older version of DeskLot which does not include this configuration, you may download a new ImportExport.mdb file from http://www.desklot.com/downloads/ImportExport.mdb. WARNING: If you have already configured Data Transfer Configurations you do not want to lose, do NOT overwrite your existing file with the new one but rather send us your existing ImportExport.mdb file via email and we will manually import the ADP configuration for you. To build a ASCSII Comma Delimited file from ADP for importing your inventory into DeskLot. Build a RPG report and save the full report. Then use the RXP function to parse the file into a CSV (comma seperated values) text file. A sample CSV file is also included at C:\Program Files\WalkTheLot DeskLot\SAMPLE_ADP_EXPORT.csv. If you build your export file just like this, then the Data Transfer Configuration included in DeskLot 1.5.89 or above called "Sample ADP Comma Delimited Import w/ Option Code/Text Conversions" should pull the file right in.
